Only one of the 1960 Squaw Valley team made it to Vancouver, and NBC did a bit on
him. Nobody recognized the guy.

But me? A 51 year old former goalie from Toronto? I knew who Jack McCartan was
from memory.

He was the goaltender from that team who made the NHL.

I still have no idea who the American fellow they referenced was.


It was "The Original Miracle On Ice" 1960.

The American fellow they interviewed said "We won, we got our gold medal, and then
I drove home to "Minnesota" "No big party"


He stuffed the Gold Medal in his cars glove box, and forgot about it!
